Oliviera

📍Location

Tucked inside the winding, sun-bleached alleyways of Nice’s atmospheric Old Town (Vieux-Nice), Oliviera is easy to miss but unforgettable once found. The little restaurant is all charm, much like it’s owner, Nadim. Inside, it feels like entering someone’s beloved home kitchen. It’s cozy, informal, and every inch is infused with rustic Mediterranean warmth.

🍽️ What I Loved

Oliviera is the kind of place where time slows down. My standout favorites here are the Veggie Lasagna and the Aubergine Oliviera! Both bursting with flavor and layered with the owner’s extraordinary olive oils. The menu shifts with the seasons and each meal ends up as much about the olive oil as the food itself. Owner Nadim is a true character. He finishes and explains every dish table-side, highlighting which olive oil he’s chosen and why. You’re in for a delicious, leisurely lunch, and you’ll likely want to take a bottle of his olive oil home for your own kitchen. Just remember, Oliviera is cash-only!

🌍 Why It’s Special

What really sets Oliviera apart is its soul. There’s a slow, intentional rhythm where you linger, talk, and let the afternoon drift by. Nadim’s obsession with olive oil makes for an experience that’s both culinary and educational. Whether you come alone or with friends, you’ll feel welcomed into the fold, as if you’re at a friend’s table. Oliviera offers a uniquely Nice moment that feels like a secret well worth discovering.
